After spending ages planning out in my head (and on Instagram) what makeup I would wear on Christmas Day, it turned out to be a major fail! I did not have time to put on the red and green Pat McGrath Labs eyeshadows I had bought. Instead, I only had time to make myself look less tired with a tiny bit of sparkle, mainly applied with my fingers. Christmas is definitely for kids!
I was determined to wear one of my Pat McGrath Labs BlitzTrance Lipsticks and I decided to wear Electra, a metallic orange. I prepared my under eyes with Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer in Toasted Almond 20G (which is my highlighter shade rather than my concealing shade) and eyelids with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink.
Using the Fenty Beauty Highlight 120 brush, I swept Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Mimosa Sunrise into the high points of my cheeks as a warm highlighter and applied the same colour using my Real Techniques Essential crease brush to my eyelids. For a gentle contour I lightly applied Maréna Beauté Blush Tarou in No01 Chocolat to the outside of my face in a “3” shape – side of forhead, under cheeks and jawline using my Real Techniques duo-fiber face brush and applied the same colour to the crease of my eyes using the Real Techniques Essential crease brush .
I finished the look with Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara.
I was in a rush to get ready (we were still late) and I had missed two days of laundry so I didn’t have any clean breastfeeding tops meaning I had to wear a nursing dress without tights! My legs needed some kind of care so I smoothed on some HiGlow by Rochelle Humes Radiance & Glow Body Cream in an attempt to detract from the fact I hadn’t shaved for a couple of months. The cream warmed up my skintone and gave some sparkle so I think it worked.
On Boxing Day I wore even less on my face (but managed to dress properly at least). I only managed Pat McGrath Labs LustGloss Lip Gloss in Paraphernalia!
